About Yasmeen

Hello! My name is Yasmeen, and I am a graduate counselor with a deep passion for supporting teens and young adults as they navigate life transitions and develop their sense of identity.

My interest in counseling began during my own adolescent years, when a meaningful experience with a therapist helped shape my understanding of mental health and emotional resilience. That personal journey continues to inspire me as I pursue my graduate studies at the University of North Texas at Dallas, with the goal of offering you the same support, validation, and guidance I once received.

With a background as a preschool teacher, I have experience fostering socio-emotional development in young people by learning alongside them—an approach I carry into my counseling style. I view you as the experts of your own life, and I approach our therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process grounded in empathy, curiosity, and mutual respect.

Therapeutic Approach:

My work is rooted in Adlerian theory with an interest in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which allows me to explore the unique parts of you, while considering the impact of early experiences, social context, and your personal strengths. I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where you are seen, supported, and challenged. I aim to balance encouragement with accountability and tailor each session to meet your unique needs.

Areas of Focus:

  • Adolescents
  • College Students
  • Adults
  • LGBTQ+
  • Life Transitions
  • Identity Development
  • Self Esteem
  • Anxiety
  • Issues related to Religion and Spirituality

Approach to Diversity and Inclusion:

As a member of the South Asian, Latin, and Muslim communities, I understand firsthand the barriers and challenges to finding culturally sensitive care. This perspective informs my integration of a multicultural lens in therapy, supporting racial and religious minorities as well as individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+. Because we are dynamic and evolving, I take an intersectional approach to ensure that all aspects of your identity are acknowledged, honored, and incorporated into the therapeutic process.

You are courageous for seeking support and embarking on a journey toward self-discovery and healing. I am honored to be part of your journey and look forward to helping you navigate challenges in a way that promotes lasting growth and well-being.

My private pay rate starts at $55 for individual therapy (sliding scale options available).

About Journey To Grace Counseling, PLLC

More About Me!

Therapy is a mutual relationship, so here’s some info about me! I believe laughter and joy are some of the best medicines, so you’ll often see me bringing humor into sessions when appropriate. I am a lifelong learner driven by curiosity and creativity, and I love to seek out new experiences, whether that be through travel, meeting new people, or trying a new recipe. I am originally from Austin, the live music capital of the world, so I go to concerts and shows as often as I can. I am also a cozy girl at heart, and at the end of a long day, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my partner and our gray tabby named Finn.
