Self Care for Educators: A 3-Hour Restorative Training for Teachers and School Staff

Presented by Cori Riley, LPC | Journey To Grace Counseling

Teaching is a calling—but it’s also one of the most emotionally demanding and often undervalued professions. The Self Care for Educators training is a powerful, trauma-informed 3-hour workshop designed specifically for teachers, school counselors, administrators, and support staff who give so much of themselves every day.

Led by Cori Riley, Licensed Professional Counselor, Trauma Therapist, former educator, and founder of Journey To Grace Counseling, this interactive session explores how educators can prioritize their own well-being while staying engaged and connected in their roles.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize signs of burnout, compassion fatigue, and secondary trauma
  • Implement sustainable self-care practices within the school day
  • Set boundaries without guilt in and out of the classroom
  • Create emotional safety and reduce stress triggers in educational spaces
  • Use mindfulness, body-awareness, and practical wellness tools to reset and recharge
  • Build a personal and professional self-care plan to avoid long-term exhaustion

This is more than just a “feel-good” seminar—it's an engaging, research-informed, and emotionally empowering experience rooted in the belief that you can’t pour from an empty cup.

Perfect for:

✔️ Professional development days
✔️ New teacher orientation sessions

Transitions can be some of the most emotionally charged moments in a child's day—especially in classroom and childcare settings. Whether it's arriving at school, cleaning up after an activity, or getting ready to go home, these in-between moments are rich with opportunity for either chaos or calm.

Journey To Grace Counseling offers a specialized training designed to help educators and child care providers create Tranquil Transitions—calming, structured routines that support children’s emotional regulation, lower stress levels, and increase classroom harmony.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Establish smooth, predictable transition routines that reduce anxiety and emotional outbursts
  • Create a sensory-friendly classroom environment that promotes calm and focus
  • Use rhythm, visual cues, and mindfulness tools to ease transitions
  • Support co-regulation and teach self-regulation during high-stress moments
  • Design routines that meet the developmental needs of all children, including those with trauma or sensory sensitivities
  • Cultivate a classroom culture where children feel emotionally safe and supported throughout the day
